AL-JOUF — The heroic act and timely intervention of a security man Thamer Al-Nawi was instrumental in extinguishing a fire at a gasoline station in Al-Jouf region without causing any human casualties or material losses.

The video about the heroic act of Al-Nawi became an instant hit on the Social media where many people lauded his bravery and heroic act that averted a big tragedy.

Speaking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, Al-Nawi said that he stopped at the station to refuel his car while on his way to his workplace at Al-Jouf Airport. When he moved to the nearby grocery store, a fire broke out at the station.

At the very moment of noticing the scene, Al-Nawi rushed to the fire extinguisher device at the station and immediately put out the burning fire, which lasted about a few minutes, without causing any human or material losses, except the burning of one of the fuel pumps.

Al-Nawi said the fire was caused apparently when a station worker pulled away the gasoline hose before completing the refueling of a vehicle while the driver of the vehicle, who did not notice it, tried to move the vehicle, leading to the fire.

The security man said that what he did was part of his duty, and a sacrifice to the beloved nation.
