Saudi Arabia's new COVID-19 cases dip as recoveries surge

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Saturday recorded 1,084 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

According to the ministry, 12 more people died due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 526,814 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,249.

According to the ministry, a total of 1,285 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 507,374.

The Riyadh region reported the highest number of new cases with 235, followed by the Makkah region with 207, the Eastern region with 154, and the Al Qassim region with 107 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 11,191 active cases and 1,403 of them were in critical condition.
