JEDDAH — The Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia intercepted and destroyed two Houthi drones targeting the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, Saudi Press Agency reported.

Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, the spokesman of the Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen, said that on Thursday morning, the coalition forces managed to intercept and shoot down two drones launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia from Amran province toward Khamis Mushait.

“Colonel Al-Maliki explained that all attempts by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia to launch drones are doomed to fail and the coalition takes all operational procedures and best practices of rules of engagement to deal with these aircraft to protect civilians,” SPA reported quoting a statement made by the coalition.

Al Maliki also said that the repeated attacks reflect the desperation in the ranks of militants as they are losing on a daily basis. — SPA
